Peace of Mind and Priorities

Well, We all know that being a mom is the same as having challenges every day, when we think we have something solved, something additional happens and we realize that our problem solved lasted 5 minutes because everything changed again.

With all these changes in daily life, how can we find that long-awaited peace of mind and how to prioritize activities to be able to have a balance in our daily lives, to be able to enjoy our motherhood much more without leaving behind our goals and our purposes. as empowered women and as individuals who want to continue fulfilling dreams and goals.

In my experience, peace of mind is found when it is consciously sought, and when I say this, I mean that we often want that peace of mind, but we do nothing to find, maintain, and retain it.

Although the chaotic days will never end, when you have peace of mind you have the great ability to see things from a calm perspective, you can handle things in the best way, and best of all, you manage to do it stress-free and with love.

With simple actions that you implement in your daily life, you will achieve that peace of mind that will allow you to face all situations from a less chaotic point of view.

I bring to you these 3 tips to have more peace of mind and to organize your priorities.

1st Schedule your day from the night before, and spend 20 minutes organizing, what will be your priorities for the day:

What do you want to achieve, what do you want to learn, with whom do you want to share, and organize your schedules in the calendar being realistic.

2nd Be realistic:

it means putting the number of activities, tasks, and jobs that you want to achieve taking into account the circumstances that surround you on a daily basis, and by this I mean the construction next door that interrupts you, your mom, your friend, your family member who calls you at a certain time of the day, your husband who wants to chat with you at a certain time, your son who woke up from his nap and is waiting to play with you.

Do not put tasks to be done when you know that the circumstance at that moment does not allow you to do them in peace. Now, if it is a priority that cannot wait and you must finish it at a very difficult time of your day during interruptions that you cannot avoid, then try to minimize these as much as possible. For example, if adults in your family and friends cause the interruptions, put the cell phone aside or let them know that you will not be available for a certain time in advance, if your children cause the interruptions then organize the night before several activities for them one after another, activities that you know they like to do and they can do it by themselves without being in danger and without having you around. Although this is not ideal, I understand that being a mother and trying to carry out tasks with children can become very complex, however, there are times when we cannot stop doing something that is a priority, if it is something not so urgent, something that you can manage to move for another time that would be great, if not, plenty of options to entertain kids, you just have to organize them before the day comes.

3rd Priorities: Limit your priorities to 3 or 4 things a day, and determine what less important or not-so-urgent things you can schedule for the following days:

Don’t put 20 things you need to get done in one day. This will only cause you to feel frustrated at the end of the day for not completing all your tasks.

Remember that the compound effect is powerful, and it is a matter of organizing your priorities for the day knowing that if you have discipline and continue to organize the highest priority tasks for that day, you will achieve a week full of tasks done and you will feel progress.
